FAQ — Guided Tatra Mountain Tours
Everything you need to know before your tour
Booking & payments
Choose a tour from our calendar, fill in a short form, and pay a 30% deposit online (card, BLIK, or Przelewy24). The whole process takes just 3 minutes. After payment, you'll receive a confirmation email with all the details.
The deposit is 30% of the tour price, payable at booking. The remaining 70% must be paid at least 14 days before the tour. If the balance isn't paid on time, the booking will be automatically cancelled.
Cancellation 30+ days before the tour — 100% deposit refund. 14-29 days — 50% refund. 7-13 days — no refund. Less than 7 days or no-show — 100% non-refundable. In case of bad weather — free rescheduling or full refund.
The minimum group is usually 2-3 people (depends on the tour). If the minimum isn't reached, we'll offer an alternative date or a full refund.
Tour preparation
It depends on the tour — you'll find a detailed equipment list on each tour page. Generally you need: good trekking boots (above ankle, hard sole), comfortable backpack (20-30L), water (min. 1.5L), and snacks. We provide specialized equipment (helmets, harnesses, via ferrata sets).
It depends on the tour — each has a difficulty rating. Easier routes (Morskie Oko, Kościeliska Valley) are suitable for everyone. Harder ones (Orla Perć, Rysy) require good fitness. When booking harder tours, we'll ask you to fill in a short questionnaire to help us assess if the tour is right for you.
Yes! We have tours for every skill level. Easier routes don't require experience. For harder ones (e.g. Orla Perć), we'll ask you to complete a questionnaire about your experience and fitness — we want to make sure the tour will be safe and enjoyable for you.
Safety is our priority. If weather conditions don't allow a safe passage, we cancel or change the route. In case of weather cancellation — free rescheduling (valid for 12 months) or full refund.
Safety
We do everything to minimize risk. We are licensed Class III Tatra mountain guides, we provide equipment, check weather, and have a backup plan for every route. However, remember that mountains aren't an amusement park — some risk always exists and we can't give a 100% guarantee. That's why it's so important to follow our instructions on the trail.
We strongly recommend accident insurance. This is especially important for tours on the Slovak side (e.g. Rysy), where mountain rescue is paid. You can buy insurance online before the tour — it's a small cost compared to potential expenses.
We have first aid training, a first aid kit, and communication with TOPR/HZS rescue services. In case of an accident, we provide first aid and call the appropriate rescue services.
General
We conduct tours in Polish, English, and German.
The meeting point is provided in the booking confirmation email. Usually it's a trailhead parking lot or an agreed location in Zakopane. You'll receive exact details (address, map, time) at least 3 days before the tour.
Yes! If you want a tour just for yourself or your group, contact us via the contact form or phone. We'll arrange the route, date, and price individually.
